On the 8th October 2008 I went into Sunnybank Private Hospital to undergo a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. At that stage I weighed 130 kg. I had Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, very high cholesterol and severe depression.

Seven months after the surgery I had lost 39 kg and no longer suffered with these medical conditions and am off all medication. I now take one multi vitamin and one fish oil tablet per day.

The procedure has totally changed my life an all aspects. I am a self-employed concreter and the difference it has made is totally unbelievable. I have plenty of energy to handle the workload and pressures of my job.

When I had the surgery I experienced a few problems but through Dr Daoud’s assurance and knowledge I came through this with flying colours. The team at the Obesity Clinic Queensland are second to none. They are always only a phone call away and are a very experienced team.

As at the 15th August 2009 I weighed 81 kg (a total loss of 49 kg since my operation) and look forward to having surgery to remove my excess skin.
